      ABOUT JITO

JITO administers glazing apprenticeships as well as joinery and laminate fabrication apprenticeships, and arranges training and assessment for about 450 apprentices every year. Investing in training for the National Certificates helps workplaces achieve high standards of of glazing and glass processing through better skilled people.

Training
Gaining skills in glazing is a combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge. The Joinery ITO has developed a system of training which incorporates both on and off job training. Formal teaching is given at the Glass and Glazing Institute of NZ, while experience is gained in the workplace where on-job instruction is received from experienced tradesmen.

Updating Qualifications
The qualifications set out in this website are reviewed every three years by an Advisory Group of interested industry members who are able to recommend changes and add new skill requirements in response to current and future industry needs.

Complaints Procedure
The complaints procedure is set out in this downloadable Word file.
