National Certificate in Joinery Introduction This is a broad based, introductory qualification which recognizes the skills and knowledge required for entry into the joinery industry. Holders of the certificate are able to work safely and capably on a range of joinery tasks with some independence under the direction of a joiner. National Certificate in Joinery Craftsperson Holders of the certificate have demonstrated competence in all aspects of the joinery trade, and are able to work in general joinery, or in any specialist area in joinery. National Certificate in Joinery (strands in Cabinetry, Exterior Joinery or Stairs) Holders of one of these certificates have demonstrated competence in the skills and knowledge required to work in one of the specialist joinery areas. They are able to carry out many of the tasks required in general joinery, and are able to work competently on any task within their specialty. National Certificate in Component Machining This qualification recognizes people who have demonstrated competence in the skills and knowledge required to work in the specialist area of joiner component machining. There are no "production" unit standards in this qualification. National Certificate in First Line Management L3 This qualification is the first of two qualifications for people who are, or are training to be first line managers (team leaders, supervisors, or charge hands). People in these roles are likely to be responsible for managing people, resources, or workplace operations, and may have had little, or no formal training. National Certificate in First Line Management L4 This qualification recognises the skills and knowledge expected of people who are, or are seeking to be first line managers (team leaders, supervisors, or charge hands). Holders of this qualification are likely to be responsible for managing people, resources, and/or work operations.
