| VERIFYING COMPETENCY |

The Joinery ITO asks employers to confirm when their apprentices are competent in a number of joinery skills which are part of our National Certificates. This requirement ensures that apprentices have sufficient workplace practice to reach factory competence before completing the qualification. Following a review of the system, and to lessen the paper work sent to the employer, JITO has reduced the number of unit standards which require employer verification to the following three cornerstone units. The NZQA website has details of each unit standard. Click on the links shown for more information - | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Go to Qualifications outline to see the full list of unit standards required for each qualificiation. Our industry can be assured that the apprentice who holds these units is competent in these skills in the workplace, and has been assessed to a national standard at Tech. |
