Apprentice of the Year
Apprentice of the Year

Each year JITO recognises the Apprentice of the Year in both joinery, glass and kitchen design. We work with the tutors and employers to find the apprentice who has shown the most promise in their work at block courses and on the job training.

Ernie Jelink Challenge Cup (Joinery) – tutors initially select apprentices based on their knowledge, performance, technique and attitude, then the employers of the short listed applicants are also asked to rate their apprentices skills, knowledge and attitude. The applicant with the top scores is awarded the Ernie Jelink Challenge Cup for Most Promising Apprentice.

GANZ Cup for Most Promising Apprentice (Glass) – applicants are selected from the previous years first in class apprentices (Stage One) combined with the workbook completion rate. The apprentice who has completed the most workbooks and achieved first in class at Stage One block course, will receive the GANZ Cup for Most Promising Apprentice.

WANZ Cup for Most Promising Apprentice (Architectural Aluminium) – applicants are nominated by their assessor and brand coordinator. Employers are then asked to rate their apprentice on skills, knowledge and attitude. The applicant with the top scores is awarded the WANZ Cup for Most Promising Apprentice.

Judy Bark Cup for Most Promising Kitchen Design Student - applicants are selected from the previous year's Level 3 students. Tutors assess all students who have attended the Level 3 course and completed their assignment with the best student achieving the Judy Bark Cup for Most Promising Kitchen Design Student.
